The town of Little Ferry is recruiting volunteers aged 16 and up to come help build a new playground at the Memorial School with the help of the KaBOOM organization.  The build is on Thursday April 24th. The Volunteer Center's Mentoring Youth Program, is looking for Spanish speaking male and female mentors for their upcoming Spring training.  Spring training begins Wed., April 30.  Please call Francine at 201-489-9454, ext. 111 for more information.

AAH of Bergen County and 55 Kip are looking for volunteers for their upcoming A Moment in Time tricky tray on April 27, 11am - 6pm.  Volunteers will assist with selling tickets and food.  Volunteers must dress in business casual attire.  Volunteers interested can contact David Moore at 201-664-1700.

The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Center is looking for volunteers for their annual meeting.  Volunteers will assist with preparation during the week leading to the annual meeting.  Volunteers are needed April 25 - May 2 (8am - 3pm).  Volunteers will help prepare materials, and will receive free parking and lunch.  To volunteer please call Sarah Stoeckel at 201-487-1050.

Bergen County's United Way
is holding their annual Teterboro Airport 5K run on July 19th.  Over 200 volunteers are needed to help out.  volunteers must be 18 or over, or 12 and over, accompanied by an adult.  Volunteers can sign up by June 15 by emailing Cheryl Moses or calling 201-291-0368.  Volunteers will be provided with a t-shirt, but should dress cool and wear sneakers.

Children's Aid & Family Service
is teaming up with the PGA Tour, the Barclay's, this summer and they need your help.  A Volunteer office assistant is needed to assist in managing the project for Children's Aid.  Volunteer will assist with office admin, special events and more. Volunteer is neded August 11-24th from 7am - 6pm.  Volunteer must be at least 16 years old. Contact Henah Parikh at 201-740-7102 to learn more.

Shelter Our Pets, Montvale, is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors.  This is a volunteer position, duties include: 1. Becoming a member of the Board, 2. Manages finances of the organization, 3. Administrates fiscal matters of the organization, 4. Provides annual budget to the board for members' approval, 5. Ensures development and board review of financial policies and procedures, 6. Knowledge of QuickBooks. Hundreds of our Bergen County neighbors are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy.  Find out how you can help the Bergen County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), which the Volunteer Center is coordinating at our Recovery Information Center in Moonachie.

Ongoing Volunteer Help Needed
Bergen County Hurricane Sandy Recovery ( needs volunteers to help with home restoration projects!  We especially need people with experience with sheetrock, flooring and finishing carpentry but unskilled volunteers are also welcome for smaller jobs. You must be 16 or older and volunteers under 18 must have adult supervision. Please email Marisa Santiago at for more information.
